SDLC RULES FOR RACING

•  A race class will be run after being called twice, if any entrant is not at the start line the entrant will miss the race and no fee will be returned.

•  S.D.L.C. provides TWO start line judges and TWO finish line judges to ensure ‘fair play' and accuracy. THESE JUDGES DECICIONS ARE FINAL IN ALL CASES

•  All racing lurchers MUST wear muzzles except when trialing in singles.

•  Racing is an exciting event for dogs but excessive barging will be considered by the race judges, who may decide on disqualification.

•  Loose dogs can cause accidents, S.D.L.C. will warn offenders but persistence will result in exclusion from the show.

•  The race start judges will attempt to place in required order, however there is no guarantee of this. The start line judges will decide on the number of heats and number of entrants per heat where necessary.

•  There are systems in place for relaying results from the finish line to the start line, colours, message courier and radio. These are provided for the use of the finish line judges only. Only the finish line judges shall give results.

•  S.D.L.C. will always attempt to operate racing as safely as possible but it is always the duty of the participant to check our procedures and adhere to them at all times. Entrants are deemed to race by the above rules.

•  It is the clubs policy to operate a maximum of four dogs racing in one heat although we cannot guarantee this. In the event of a ‘tie' a re-run will be permitted at the owner's discretion.

•  Late entries at the start line will be accepted at the judge's discretion, in such circumstances the entrants will abide by the judges decision of placement, once enough heats have been run to achieve a final then NO late entries will be accepted.

ANYONE GIVING ABUSE TO THE RACE JUDGES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SHOW. NO FEES WILL BE RETURNED.
